Two subsidiaries of ITK Holding Zrt., INTER TAN-KER Zrt. and Inter Traction Electrics Kft., were awarded the title “Sustainable Debrecen” on 9 February 2021.

The aim of the competition is to protect the natural environment of the city of Debrecen and to develop an environmentally conscious approach. Naturally, the prizes are awarded in this spirit.

Voluntary commitment by applicants to refrain from using single-use plastics and to take at least two additional measures to protect the environment. In this spirit, our Group has made a commitment to improve air quality and reduce emissions. In the former context, INTER TAN-KERT Zrt. is preparing the purchase of alternative fuel buses to operate buses that meet the highest environmental standards, and in the latter, Inter Traction Electrics Ltd. has undertaken to manufacture buses that meet the highest environmental standards.

Deputy Mayor Ákos Balázs, who is also responsible for environmental protection, also spoke at the ceremony about the goal of greening the city of Debrecen; he said that this is not possible without partners, without businesses that are active in the city. More than a decade of cooperation between the municipality and our Group has been in line with this approach: only buses that have significantly reduced transport emissions have been put into operation in Debrecen.

Future product developments of the ITK Group will also contribute to the sustainable development and green future of the city.

Inter Traction Electrics Ltd. received a huge recognition at the press conference held on 12.10.2019, on the occasion of the groundbreaking ceremony of the new factory.

It was at this event that Reinhardt Münster, Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Hungária Kft., announced that the subsidiary of ITK Holding Zrt. had been awarded the ‘VanPartner’ certification.

Based on the certification granted by Mercedes-Benz, the group can now also build small commercial vehicles as individual bodies on Mercedes-Benz chassis. The first tangible result of this qualification is the Reform-S School minibus, which was also presented on this occasion.

The uniquely designed minibus not only brings the future of child transport, thanks to its safety and passenger protection features, but also opens a new chapter in the history of the two companies, with the potential for a highly successful partnership.

The audit that earned our company this certification is a months-long process that examines specific criteria that few companies in the world have ever met.

Reinhardt Münster, the special guest of the event, also praised the achievement and congratulated the group, and also praised the technological solutions of the Reform S-School bus.
