REFORM 501 LE wins “Commercial Vehicle of the Year 2019″ award”

In 2019, Camion Truck & Bus magazine has announced the 24th edition of the “Commercial Vehicle of the Year” competition, in which commercial vehicles presented and marketed in Hungary – in a total of fourteen categories – are judged. In 2019, for the first time, a bus produced by Inter Traction Electrics Ltd. entered and won the competition based on readers’ votes: the Mercedes-Benz Reform 501 LE received the most votes in the urban/suburban bus category.

At the end of 2019, Inter Traction Electrics Ltd. won one of the most important awards in the Hungarian commercial vehicle market: the Mercedes-Benz Reform 501 LE in the urban/suburban bus category, and won it based on the readers’ votes.

In December, the company unveiled its low-entry suburban bus, equipped with a EURO 6 diesel engine and a 6+1-speed automatic gearbox. The technical design of the chassis incorporates the vehicle safety and driving stability systems familiar on Mercedes-Benz buses, as well as remote on-board diagnostics and control devices developed by the ITK group, which provide operational and functional data for remote monitoring of the vehicles. Given the demanding urban and suburban environment, a number of comfort features have been added to meet the most varied passenger needs. Of course, it is also equipped with a ramp to facilitate boarding and alighting for people with reduced mobility, as well as systems to support the safety of their journey.

“It was a great honour for us to win the Camion Truck & Bus ‘Commercial Vehicle of the Year’ award in this category on our very first launch. Together with my colleagues, we are working hard to offer the market an alternative with high-quality buses based on Mercedes-Benz, an important jewel in the crown of which is the REFORM 501 LE, which has been awarded by the professional public. The REFORM bus range is expanding year by year, and this year, after our urban and suburban models, we have also presented the school bus developed and produced by us. We hope that soon more and more buses made in Debrecen will be on the roads of Hungary and Europe.” – said György Kossa, President and CEO of ITK Holding Zrt.
